Assam NEET UG 2026: Revised Seat Matrix Released, Choice Filling Extended Till October 7

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has released an important update for Assam NEET UG 2026 Round 3 counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in the state's Government Medical and Dental Colleges.

Through an Educational Notice dated October 6, 2026, DME Assam informed candidates that a revised seat matrix has been uploaded following the surrender of an MBBS seat under the SC category during the ongoing counselling and admission process. The revision was made pursuant to an order of the Hon'ble High Court of Assam dated October 1, 2026.

At the same time, the authority has extended the Round 3 online choice-filling deadline to October 7, 2026, up to 10:00 PM.

The updated Round 3 seat information includes 71 MBBS seats and 54 BDS seats under the Assam State Quota. Of the MBBS seats, 61 are shown under the PwD category, while 10 are listed under other categories.

Choice Locking: October 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 11:59 PM

Candidates who do not manually lock their choices within the prescribed period will have their choices automatically locked after 11:59 PM.

This extension gives eligible candidates additional time to review the revised seat matrix and make changes to their preferences before final locking.

What Has Changed in Assam NEET UG Round 3?

The revised seat matrix was issued because of a change in seat availability during the ongoing counselling process. According to the official notice, an MBBS seat surrendered under the SC category resulted in the revised matrix being uploaded.
