Tax Benefits on Education Loan

Under Section 80E of the Income Tax Act, 1961, you can claim a deduction on the interest paid on your education loan — with no upper cap on the deduction amount.

Section 80E Deduction

Deduction on interest paid on education loan for up to 8 consecutive years from year of repayment.

No Upper Limit

A Top Up Loan is permitted within the overall limit to pursue additional professional or technical courses in India or abroad. This facility is available when further studies begin during the moratorium period of your first loan.

After the second loan, the moratorium period extends for the second course duration. Repayment commences one year after completion or 6 months after employment — whichever is earlier.
