Seat Allotment / Admission Offer Types

Since there are no physical or virtual "counselling rounds," universities evaluate profiles individually and release official decisions via their applicant portals. Admissions usually fall into three main categories:

• Firm/Direct Admission Offer: Given to candidates who have completed Class 12 and met both the SAT cutoff and profile benchmarks.

• Conditional Offer Letter: Very common for Indian students applying in Class 12. The university reserves a seat based on your SAT score, conditioned on you securing a minimum percentage (e.g., 60% or 75%) in your upcoming Board Exams.

• Waitlisted: If seats are full but your profile is competitive, you are placed on a waitlist. If selected students reject their offers, seats are dynamically allocated to waitlisted candidates.
