The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) 2026 is the entrance examination for selected MBA programmes offered by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU) for the 2027–28 academic session. After the SNAP result is declared, shortlisted candidates must participate in the further admission process conducted by their respective institutes.

SNAP does not have a single centralised counselling process for all participating institutes. Each institute determines its programme-specific shortlisting criteria, conducts the required selection stages and publishes its own merit and waitlists.

SNAP 2026 Admission Process: Overview

The admission process generally follows these stages:

  1. Register for SNAP 2026 and select the MBA programmes you want to apply for.

  2. Appear for the selected SNAP test or tests.

  3. Check the result and overall percentile.

  4. Check the institute-wise shortlist and selection schedule.

  5. Attend the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interaction (PI) stages for every programme for which you are shortlisted.

  6. Check the final merit list, waitlist or rejection status.

  7. Complete document verification, pay the required admission fees and confirm your seat if selected.

Candidates should follow the official instructions of each institute because deadlines and additional requirements may differ.

Step 1: Check the SNAP 2026 Result

The SNAP 2026 result is scheduled to be declared on January 12, 2027. Candidates should access the result through the official SNAP website and check their score and percentile.

If a candidate appears for more than one SNAP test, the higher score is considered for the final percentile calculation according to the official rules. The SNAP score is valid for admission to the selected SIU programmes for the 2027–28 academic session.

Step 2: Institute-Wise Shortlisting

After the result declaration, each participating institute shortlists candidates for further admission rounds based on their overall SNAP percentile and the requirements of the programme.

The shortlisting cut-off is calculated separately for each programme. As a result, candidates may receive interview or GE-PI invitations from more than one institute or for more than one MBA programme.

The official SNAP website provides general admission information, but candidates must visit their chosen institute's official website for its specific cut-off, shortlist, schedule and instructions.

Step 3: Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interaction (PI)

Candidates shortlisted for a programme must participate in the required Group Exercise and Personal Interaction process.

Group Exercise (GE): This stage evaluates how candidates contribute to a group task or discussion. Depending on the institute's instructions, assessment may consider communication, teamwork, reasoning, participation and problem-solving.

Personal Interaction (PI): In this stage, candidates may be asked about their academic background, career goals, work experience, interests, understanding of management and reasons for choosing the programme.

The exact format and instructions should be checked in the admission notice issued by the respective institute.

Is GE-PI compulsory for every shortlisted programme?

Yes. The official SNAP 2026 admission guidelines state that candidates must attend all required components of the admission process to remain eligible for consideration in the merit, wait or reject list.

A candidate shortlisted for multiple programmes is expected to complete the GE-PI process separately for each programme, as instructed by the respective institutes. Absence from any required component can make the candidate ineligible for that programme's admission process.

Step 4: SNAP 2026 Final Merit List and Selection Weightage

The official SNAP 2026 admission guidelines specify the following weightage for the final merit list:

Selection Component

Weightage

SNAP score, scaled from 60 marks

50

Group Exercise (GE)

10

Personal Interaction (PI)

40

Total

100

The SNAP entrance examination accounts for 50 marks in the final merit calculation, while GE contributes 10 marks and PI contributes 40 marks.

Candidates should note that the final admission decision is not based only on the entrance examination score. Performance in the required selection stages and the applicable eligibility rules also matter.

Step 5: Merit List, Waitlist and Cut-Offs

After completing the selection process, the respective institutes publish their final merit lists and, where applicable, waitlists and rejection lists.

Candidates should check their status on the relevant institute's official admission website. Category-wise cut-offs for merit lists and waitlists are published by the respective institutes.

Waitlist movement depends on seat availability and the number of candidates who accept or decline admission offers. A waitlisted candidate should follow the institute's instructions and deadlines rather than assume that a seat will be offered.

Step 6: Document Verification and Seat Confirmation

Candidates who receive an admission offer must complete the prescribed admission formalities by the stated deadline. These may include document verification, submission of qualifying-degree records, provision of category certificates where applicable, payment of admission fees and completion of institute registration.

Admission is provisional until the candidate pays the required fees within the deadline and fulfils the programme's eligibility conditions. Failure to meet these requirements may lead to cancellation of the offer.

Candidates should keep their application details, scorecard, academic documents and admission-related communications available throughout the process.

  • Monitor institute websites after the SNAP result for shortlist announcements.

  • Attend every required GE-PI component for each programme where you are shortlisted.

  • Check the official merit list and waitlist rather than relying on predicted cut-offs.
