Application Process and Fees
Fees
Candidates registering for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2026 must pay the applicable examination registration fee according to their selected test mode. Conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA), MAT provides candidates with the option to appear for the Paper-Based Test (PBT), Computer-Based Test (CBT), or both.
For the December 2026 session, AIMA's published fee structure lists a registration fee of ₹2,300 for either individual test mode and ₹4,000 for both modes.
MAT 2026 Application Fee Structure
Examination Mode | Registration Fee |
|---|---|
Paper-Based Test (PBT) | ₹2,300 |
Computer-Based Test (CBT) | ₹2,300 |
Both PBT and CBT | ₹4,000 |
Candidates should confirm the applicable amount displayed on the official payment page before completing registration.
MAT 2026 Fee for Both Test Modes
Candidates who wish to appear for both PBT and CBT can register for the combined option at ₹4,000.
The combined registration costs ₹1,700 more than registering for a single mode at ₹2,300. This option gives candidates an opportunity to take both examinations, subject to the published schedule and registration requirements.
AIMA's FAQ also states that candidates registering for both modes can select up to seven management institutes to receive their scores, compared with five choices for a single mode.
MAT 2026 Fee Payment Methods
AIMA provides online payment options through the MAT registration portal. The official instructions list the following methods:
Credit card
Debit card
Net banking
UPI
Wallet, where available on the payment portal
Candidates should use the official MAT website to make payments. After the transaction, check whether the payment has been confirmed and the application has been generated successfully.
Is the MAT 2026 Application Fee Refundable?
According to AIMA's published refund policy, the registration fee is non-refundable and cannot be retained for a future examination or selection process.
Candidates should therefore check their personal details, selected examination mode and payment amount before submitting the application.
AIMA's policy separately addresses cases such as duplicate or excess payments and failed registrations. If money is deducted but no registration form is generated, candidates should follow the official instructions and complete the registration again before the deadline where required.
Can Candidates Change Their MAT Test Mode After Payment?
Candidates should carefully choose the test mode before paying the fee. Any changes, upgrades or additional mode requests must follow the options and rules available through the official portal.
Do not assume that an incorrect selection can be changed after submission. Check the current MAT instructions or contact AIMA if clarification is required.
