Counselling and Admission Process
State Quota Counselling
The remaining 50% state quota seats in government colleges, and seats in private colleges within each state, are filled through state counselling conducted by the respective state authorities using NEET PG scores.
How State Counselling Works
Each state publishes its own notification, eligibility (often domicile-based), merit list and seat matrix.
Candidates register separately on the state counselling portal.
Rounds generally follow the AIQ and State Counselling Schedule issued with MCC.
Private college seats in the state (management/NRI quotas) are usually filled through state counselling.
AIQ vs State Quota
Feature | All India Quota (MCC) | State quota (state authority) |
|---|---|---|
Seats | 50% of government seats + deemed/central universities | 50% of government seats + private seats in the state |
Domicile | Not required | Usually required, as per state rules |
Registration | mcc.nic.in | State counselling website |
Key Takeaways
State quota covers 50% of government seats plus state private seats.
Domicile rules apply in most states.
Register separately for each state counselling.
Pro Tip: Check your state’s domicile and document rules early — many candidates lose state quota options due to missing certificates.
