NID Admission and Seat Allotment
Full pageAfter the DAT Mains, NID prepares category-wise merit lists and allots seats in order of merit and availability. The detailed admission/counselling schedule will be announced by NID.

How Seat Allotment Works
Final merit lists are prepared category-wise (Open, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD), plus a separate list for Overseas candidates.
Seat allotment follows merit and the availability of seats in each category and discipline.
Document verification: Original certificates are physically verified at the admission stage.
Fee payment and joining as per the instructions and fee structure for the allotted NID.
Important Rules
A rank does not guarantee admission to the programme or discipline of your choice.
Unfilled OBC-NCL seats are de-reserved to the Open category.
Each NID uses the DAT Mains score for admission to its own seats; independent NIDs may hold additional Mains for vacant seats.
Qualifying marksheets must be submitted by the deadlines (UG: 15 July 2027; M.Des: 31 July 2027).
