IPMAT — At a Glance
About IPMAT
IPMAT is an integrated entrance gateway designed for high school leavers right after Class 12. It provides a direct pathway into a rigorous 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM), which blends a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) without requiring students to separately take the CAT exam later.
IPMAT 2027
The IPMAT Exam 2027 is expected to be conducted by IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak in May 2027 for admission to the 5 year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM).
IPMAT 2027 eligibility is expected to require 60% marks in Class 10 and Class 12 for General or OBC candidates and 55% for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
The maximum age limit is expected to be 20 years for General, EWS and OBC candidates while SC, ST and PwD candidates may receive 2 years' relaxation.
IIM Indore will conduct a 120 minute CBT paper with 90 questions consisting of QA MCQ, QA Short Answer and Verbal Ability each having 40 minutes sectional time limit.
IPMAT Rohtak will consist of 120 questions from QA, LR & VA without any section time limit and also no short answer questions.
The marking scheme for IPMAT is expected to provide 4 marks for every correct response while deducting 1 mark for every wrong answer in MCQs.
There will be no negative marking in SA questions for IPMAT Indore exam.
For candidates belonging to the General category, a score of 200+ (IIM Indore) or 350+ (IIM Rohtak) would be considered good, subject to sectional cutoffs and interview shortlisting.

What is the IPMAT Exam?
IPMAT is the entrance examination for the 5 year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) offered by IIM Indore. IPMAT Indore and IPMAT Rohtak hold two individual IPMAT exams based on different exam formats and admission processes.
IPMAT Indore is a CBT mode test that evaluates candidates in Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability.
Candidates who have passed or are appearing for Class 12 are eligible to apply for IPMAT Indore.
IPMAT Indore is usually conducted in the first week of May every year.
17,916 candidates managed to score positively in IPMAT 2026 whereas only 838 got selected for the PI shortlist.
The IPMAT 2026 PI shortlist rate was around 4.7% reflecting the highly competitive admission process at IIM Indore.

Candidates who appear for Class 12 in 2027 can apply for IPMAT Exam 2027 provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria.

IPMAT Exam Pattern 2027
The exam pattern, sections, question types and marking scheme vary between the two examinations so candidates should prepare according to the IPMAT Exam 2027 pattern of the institute they are applying to.

IPMAT Indore Exam 2027 is expected to have a maximum of 360 marks and the examination will be conducted in CBT mode.
Each section is expected to have a 40 minute sectional time limit with no option to switch between sections before the allotted time ends.

IPMAT Rohtak Exam 2027 is expected to have a maximum of 480 marks and the examination will be conducted in CBT mode.
IPMAT Rohtak has followed an overall 120 minute duration without a strict sectional time limit in some previous admission cycles.
The IPMAT Rohtak 2027 exam pattern may change slightly. Candidates should check the official notification for the final pattern.

IPMAT Exam 2027 Syllabus
IPMAT Indore 2027 focuses on Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability with greater emphasis on conceptual understanding in Short Answer questions.
Logical Reasoning is not included in the IPMAT Indore 2027 examination.
IPMAT Rohtak 2027 gives equal importance to Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability.
