How to Apply for NMAT 2026?
Candidates can follow these steps to complete their registration.
Step 1: Visit the Official NMAT Website
Open the official NMAT by GMAC website at https://www.mba.com/exams/nmat/register-schedule.
Select the registration option to create a new NMAT account.
Step 2: Create an Account and Verify Your Email
Enter a valid email address and complete the account creation process. Check your inbox for the verification email and follow the instructions to verify the account.
Check the spam or junk folder if the verification email does not arrive. Keep your login credentials secure for future access to the candidate dashboard.
Step 3: Complete the NMAT Application Form
Log in to your account and open the NMAT candidate dashboard. Complete the application form by providing the requested personal, educational, work experience and contact information.
Check all information carefully before submitting the form. Your name and date of birth must match the details on your photo identification document.
Step 4: Select Your Preferred Business Schools
Use the School Preferences section to select the business schools to which you want your NMAT scores sent.
The registration fee includes score reporting to five schools. Additional score reports are subject to the prescribed fee.
Candidates should verify whether their preferred MBA programmes require a separate college application, additional documents or an independent application fee.
Step 5: Upload Your Photograph
Upload a recent photograph that meets the official NMAT specifications.
The photograph should be clear, upright and suitable for identity verification. GMAC requires a recent photograph, generally taken within the preceding six months, that resembles the candidate and matches the photo ID.
Follow the official image-format and upload instructions, and preview the photograph before submitting the application.
Step 6: Review and Submit Your Application
Use the preview option to review your application before final submission. Check your personal details, educational information, selected business schools and photograph.
Once the application is submitted, only specified fields may be editable within the permitted correction period. Personal details and address changes may not be accepted after submission, so it is important to verify them before proceeding.
Step 7: Pay the Application Fee
Pay the registration fee through an available payment method on the official NMAT portal.
GMAC lists payment options including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit cards, internet banking and Diners Club, subject to the options displayed at checkout.
Save the payment confirmation and check that your candidate dashboard reflects the completed registration.
Step 8: Book Your Examination Slot
After completing registration and payment, log in to the candidate dashboard and select the Book Exam Slot option.
Follow the instructions to choose an available test centre, examination date and time. Slots are subject to availability and should be booked before the official scheduling deadline.
The scheduling deadline is separate from the registration deadline.
Step 9: Download Your Admit Card
The NMAT admit card is generally available seven days before the scheduled examination date.
Download and print a fresh copy from the candidate dashboard for each attempt. Verify that the photograph, name, exam date, time and venue details are correct.
Candidates must bring the admit card and the required original, valid identification documents according to the official examination-day instructions.
Documents and Details Required for NMAT Registration

A valid email address and mobile number.
Personal and contact details.

NMAT Registration vs MBA College Application
NMAT registration does not automatically complete the admission process for participating business schools.
NMAT Registration | MBA College Application |
|---|---|
Managed through the GMAC examination portal | Managed by the individual business school |
Covers examination registration and slot booking | Covers admission to a specific programme |
Includes score reporting to the first five selected schools | May require a separate application form and fee |
Results in an NMAT examination score | May involve shortlisting, interviews or other selection stages |
Candidates should check the application requirements and deadlines of their preferred colleges separately. An NMAT score does not guarantee admission.
