  • Do not carry: Mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, electronic devices, notes or study material. Follow the full list of instructions printed on your admit card.

Key Takeaways

MHT CET Answer Key and Objections

Full page

After each attempt, the CET Cell gives candidates a chance to check the question paper, their recorded responses and the provisional answer key, and to raise objections if they believe an answer is wrong. This makes the result process transparent.

The 2026 dates and fees in this table are from news reports; always follow the official notice on the CET Cell portal for your attempt.

How to Raise an Objection

  1. Log in to the CET Cell candidate portal with your registration credentials.

  2. Open the objection / grievance link for your group and attempt.

  3. View your question paper, response sheet and provisional answer key.

  4. Select the question you want to challenge, choose the answer you believe is correct, and explain your reasoning. Upload supporting proof (textbook page or reference) if possible.

  5. Pay the objection fee online for each question challenged.

  6. Track the status through the objection/grievance tracking option in your login.

What Happens After Objections

  • Subject experts review every objection.

  • If an objection is accepted, the answer key is revised before results are processed.

  • The final answer key is used to calculate raw scores, which are then normalised into percentiles.

  • Frivolous or unsupported objections are rejected and the fee is not refunded (as per 2026 reports).

How to Estimate Your Score

Compare your response sheet with the provisional key. For PCM: add 1 mark for each correct Physics or Chemistry answer and 2 marks for each correct Maths answer. For PCB: 1 mark for every correct answer. There are no deductions for wrong answers. Remember, your percentile also depends on how others in your session performed.

Key Takeaways

  • Question paper, response sheet and provisional key are shown in the candidate login after each attempt.

  • In 2026, the objection fee was reported as ₹1,000 per question.

  • The final key is used to calculate raw scores before normalisation.

Pro Tip: Raise an objection only when you have a clear textbook reference. Each objection costs money, and only well-supported challenges are accepted.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MHT CET answer key objection fee?

₹1,000 per objection, as reported for 2026. Always check the official notice.

Can I see my MHT CET response sheet?

Yes. The question paper, your responses and the provisional key are shown in the candidate login during the objection window.

Is the result based on the provisional key?

No. Raw scores are calculated from the final answer key and then normalised into percentiles.

MHT CET Result and Percentile Normalisation

Full page

MHT CET is held in many sessions over several days, and no two question papers are identical in difficulty. To make results fair, the CET Cell converts raw marks into normalised percentiles using a published result processing methodology. Your percentile — not your raw marks — is what decides your CAP merit position.

How the MHT CET percentile is calculated with session-wise normalisation

How the Percentile Is Calculated

As per the official methodology, the percentile for each candidate is calculated within their own session:

Percentile = 100 × (Number of candidates in the session with raw score equal to or less than the candidate) ÷ (Total number of candidates who appeared in that session)

  • Percentiles are calculated up to 7 decimal places to reduce ties.

  • Percentiles are calculated separately for each subject and for the total.

  • The total percentile is not the average of subject percentiles — it is calculated from the total raw score.

  • The highest scorer in every session gets 100 percentile.

Worked Example

Suppose 30,000 candidates appeared in your session and 28,500 of them (including you) scored equal to or less than your raw score. Your percentile = 100 × 28,500 ÷ 30,000 = 95.0000000. This means you scored as well as or better than 95% of candidates in your session.

Two Attempts: Which Score Counts?

Under the 2026 rules, candidates who appeared in both attempts were considered on the basis of the better Total percentile of the two attempts for the merit list. The attempt rule for 2027 will be confirmed in the new brochure.

How to Check the Result

  1. Log in to the CET Cell candidate portal.

  2. Open the score card for your group and attempt.

  3. Download and save the score card — it is needed for CAP registration and verification.

Details on the MHT CET Score Card

  • Candidate name, roll number and group

  • Subject-wise percentiles (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology)

  • Total percentile

  • Other details as printed by the CET Cell

Tie-Breaking

When two candidates have the same total percentile, the CAP merit list uses tie-breaking criteria defined in the CAP information brochure (such as subject-wise percentiles). Check the current year’s brochure for the exact order.

Key Takeaways

  • Results are given as session-wise normalised percentiles to 7 decimal places.

  • The total percentile is not an average of subject percentiles.

  • In 2026, the better total percentile of the two attempts counted.

  • Results for 2026 were declared between 9 and 18 June.

Pro Tip: Comparing raw marks with friends from other sessions is misleading. The same raw score can give very different percentiles in an easy versus a tough session.

Percentile = 100 × (candidates in your session with raw score equal to or less than yours) ÷ (total candidates present in that session), to 7 decimal places.

Is the total percentile an average of subject percentiles?

No. The total percentile is calculated separately from your total raw score.

Which attempt counts if I appear twice?

Under the 2026 rules, the better total percentile of the two attempts was used for the merit list.
